I’m sitting in a coffee shop, not really shocking as I love coffee. But as I’m sitting here, I’m propelled to write about my journey with being single. Sounds like a horrible disease, but it really isn’t. Are you ready for this? 😛
As a young girl, I have always wanted to get married. It has been a dream of mine, to marry my best friend, go on adventures, laugh, pursue our dreams and have some cute kids. I thought I would have been married by now, but this hasn’t happened yet. I have had a couple of boyfriends and been on some awkward dates. Yes, those awkward dates, where you need to get the heck out of there! But with all that being said, my dating life hasn’t been very active.
In the journey of my singleness I have had moments of… Where the heck is this man?! Will I ever get married? Okay, maybe I should try online dating?
Does this sound like moments you have had? Believe me you are not alone in this. It’s perfectly okay to have these moments. It can be discouraging at times, but it’s best to find happiness in your singleness quick. Being single isn’t a bad thing, I have learned.
One thing I really learned was to never rush the process. You don’t want to settle for someone who you don’t see a future with. Also being single is actually a beautiful time to work on yourself, know what you want in life and learn what you want in a future partner etc…
So I leave you with this… live your life to the fullest right now. Enjoy your life, start your passion projects, go on adventures, travel the world and pursue those dreams. Along the way when you aren’t even looking, that person will be right in front of you. God works in mysterious ways. It will be worth the wait, let me tell you.
