How would you describe the women that you’ve become?
I have become or am always working on being a women who fully relies on God. When He is at the centre of my life I am more joyful, hopeful and prepared to take on the challenges I face.
What does a day look like in your shoes?
I try to wake up before my husband and my son to sip coffee alone and hang with God in the quiet before the day begins. The first few hours of the day are my favourite. Then I help my husband get ready for work and hang out with my son in his room before I get him up and ready for the day. I like to start the day quiet and slow. In the mornings my son and I go out and do an activity like attend our library group, then home for him to have a nap and for me to spend some time woking. In the afternoons we play and if my son is in a good mood, once and awhile I will try to film a video while he plays on the floor. Then we prep dinner and wait for dad to come home. We eat dinner as a family pretty much every night and after my son goes to bed I hit my computer for a little more work while my husband watches hockey. Our lives have slowed a little since we have had our son but I love this phase we are in right now.
You run a beauty Blog & YouTube show which is fabulous by the way! But what inspired you to start?
Thank you for the encouraging words about my channels. I started my blog as a diary to sort out my thoughts, I wrote and posted there for about three years before I ever actually shared the link on my social accounts. When my son was born I felt like my creativity came alive and my confidence was boosted. I wanted to share my thoughts for myself as well as to help anyone reading with similar experiences, to know they were not alone. I started my YouTube channel to showcase my makeup artistry skills and hopefully initiate a personal connection with potential clients. My channels have become an extreme passion and creative outlet for me.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is having confidence in all the characteristics that make you unique. We were all designed with a purpose and I believe our individualism is a key to understanding that purpose and fulfilling the work we were created to do.
What are your top 3 beauty products that you couldn’t live without?
Brow Colour, Mascara and Lipstick.
If you look back on your life what was one of your biggest challenges you had to face and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge that I have had to face is knowing that when I choose to follow my unique path sometimes others may not understand the direction I am going. I have overcome this by further understanding the character of God and specifically this verse that reminds me I am never alone. Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
What would you want to tell other dreamers who are pursuing their dreams?
Dreamers, you are a different breed and the world needs us. Never stop dreaming and its ok if your dreams change.
