I’m so glad you are here! Today I’m really excited to feature a young driven guy who is originally from St. Louis. He now resides in the So’Cal area as he chases his dreams in music. When I first met Will, he really surprised me in many ways. First of all, his drive to chase his dreams in L.A really inspired me. He knew he had a purpose to pursue with a deep message to send out to the world. I knew the day I met this guy that he was going places.
I believe people’s stories can empower, inspire and set you free. So with that being said, I want to introduce you to the one and only Will Inspire, Indie Hip Hop Artist who is changing the world around him. Performing at SXSW 2 years straight Headlining a few festivals & a handful of shows in St. Louis, Chicago, Texas, and California. Opening up for Hip Hop Heavyweight Kendrick Lamar, here is more of his Story…
Your faith has been a big part of your life, When you ask God who is Will? What does he say?
Thats a great question! I believe he says “son, if only you knew what I put inside of you”. He’s a constant reminder that he made me for greatness and to show the gifts he’s blessed me with to the world for his glory.
What do you want your life to look like everyday?
Life of always being a blessing to others would be just right to me. I truly believe that fame and fortune means nothing if you can’t bless someone else with what you’ve been blessed with yourself.
As a Indie Hip Hop Artist, what message do you want to give others through your music?
That whatever you been through, there’s a way out. I try to be as transparent as possible with my music in order to help someone that might be going through, or have gone through what i’ve been through. It’s always great to know your not alone in your struggle! My new music will definitely show this statement to be true.
You launched a movement called “Rare Make” not too long ago now. Tell us more about “Rare Make” and your mission with it all?
Rare Make is something I started maybe 3 years ago and has since had its ups and downs. When it started, it was originally RVR3 MAKE but after going through many changes, I felt it was right to change the name to just “Rare Make” to rebrand and reintroduce it. In a nutshell, the mission of Rare Make is to allow the individuals that society overlooks or views as “weird” to have a place to let their God given talents shine while inspiring someone else to feel comfortable with following their dreams. It’s so many movements that’s based on “how cool you are” instead of “who you are”. I just really see amazing things in the near future coming to light to make Rare Make a focal point in being that example to this generation.
You moved to L.A a little bit over a year ago now, what advice would you give others who want to move to the Big City to pursue their dreams?
If it seems too scary or too big to make happen, that’s your sign that you need to do it. Moving here has truly shown me that if your dream doesn’t sound crazy or too big to happen, it’s a possibility that its wayyyy too small. Nothing can ever be achieved within a comfort zone.
What has been your biggest highlight living in L.A so far?
Honestly, the moment I finally arrived here for the first time. There’s been so much amazing things that have happened and I feel it would be unfair to only name one, but the minute I saw that sign saying we made it, I knew that my life and everything I thought I knew would change forever.
Who has been your biggest support this past year and what would you want to tell them?
Again, another question hard to answer lol. From my parents, my brothers and sisters, my bro and roommate Adam, my girl!!!! There’s been so much support from everyone through this first year being in California that It’ll be unfair to say just one person. Everyone is playing a key part in the success of being out here and I’m overly grateful for them all.
What has been the biggest challenge you had to face this past year and how did you overcome it?
There was a point where I lost my job and had rent due the next week. I was stressed and didn’t know how I would come up with the money…but then God smiled. Lol. He turned such a bad situation into my strongest test of faith and allowed me to come up with more than enough money I needed for rent AND blessed me with a better job that paid better. I couldn’t make up the story if I wanted to. God really grew me in that time.
If you could pick 3 wishes you want to come true for 2016 what would they be?
Have J Cole and Kendrick Lamar call me for a feature, perform in a stadium, and my rent paid for the year LOL! Naw but I’m just taking it all one day at a time. This journey is so fun and surprising every day. I’m just grateful to be going through it all.
